We have an excellent, experienced team of staff. We appreciate the personalities and strengths each of these individuals bring to our Nursery. Our team consists of a Manager, Sharon, two Deputy Managers, a Special Needs Coordinator, 2 Room Leaders, and dedicated Nursery Nurses. All of our staff have relevant childcare qualifications ranging from NVQ to University Degrees. Refresher courses are engaged by all of our staff to keep their knowledge to a high standard. We are proud that many of our staff are long-standing members of our team.
Each one of our children is assigned a key worker - a member of staff dedicated to the assessment and development of that child. We work closely with parents to ensure all needs are met appropriately and effectively.
Janet - Owner - BEd Hons “I always remember friends saying how fortunate I was being able to earn a living from my hobby. Opening Rupert's in 1988 was the realisation of a long held dream – a Day Nursery where I would be happy to leave my own children all day. Twenty-two years later and I still enjoy seeing how happily the children arrive each morning and watching them learn and develop.”
Sharon - Nursery Manager - NVQ level 3 Learning & Development, BTec Diploma in Nursery Nursing, Level 3 First Line Management, OH&S Co-ordinator, First Aid Certificate - “Rupert's to me is a home from home and not just a job. I feel all the people who work at Rupert's work as a family unit and we all strive to deliver the best care we can for the children. I work alongside the staff in the Nursery rooms to ensure the aims we set are met and I am always on hand to help out if needed. I oversee the education and development of the children and we aim high as a team to encourage the children to reach their full potential. Play to me is a huge part of education and it underpins all development and learning for young children and as a team leader I strive to deliver this daily.”
Sandra - Cook and Nursery Nurse - NVQ Level 2 “I have worked at Rupert's for 14 years now and I enjoy my job because I know that the food I provide for the children is healthy and nutritious and it gives me great pleasure when I see the children eating all their food and knowing that I have contributed to a healthy start in their lives. I work closely with parents and I provide recipes and any nutritional requirements they need for their child. I love talking to children about what they eat and where it comes from.”
Kath - Nursery Nurse -“I have worked at Rupert's Nursery for nearly eight years now. I feel the children look upon me as a surrogate Nanna, and they get plenty of hugs off me and lots and lots of love. I always treat the children as if they were my own and make them feel safe, loved and secure and if I achieve this each day then I feel my job for that day has been a good one. I love my job and should have done it years ago.”
Tommy - Nursery Nurse - “I have been employed at Rupert’s for nearly ten years now. I work every afternoon in the tweenie room and I enjoy every single day. In my career I have previously worked in leisure with children and I enjoy all kinds of different activities with the children. I plan for activities both indoors and outdoors so I reach all of the children's potentials. If you would like to know anything please ask me as I am here to help.”
